Lennon "Lenny" LeeRoy Marsyla, 73, went to be with His Lord, Friday, January 27, 2012 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born February 12, 1938 in Kalevala Township to John and Mabel (Waisanen) Marsyla. Lenny was united in marriage to Jean Siltanen on October 31, 1964 in Minneapolis. Jean had the privilege of holding her husband's hand as she witnessed his going home. His eyes widened in surprise as he saw Jesus coming to take him to heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Vivian Davey; 4 brothers, Ernest, Ervin, Archer and Eugene; sisters-in-law, Jewel Boraski, Perry and Evelyn Marsyla; brothers-in-law, Alvin Siltanen, Richard Anderson and Leo Niskanen.
Lenny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean Marsyla; son, LeeRoy (Alice) Marsyla; granddaughter, Kimberley Parisse; brother, Gary (Judy) Marsyla; sisters Lila Niskanen, Marlene (Gus) Hendrickson, Myrna (Stan) Duesler; sister's-in-law, Marge Marsyla, Joyce Anderson and Hjardis (Richard) Perry; brother-in-law, Melvin (Karen) Siltanen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In Lenny's memory, a friend, Jesse Mitchel, "know in the wrestling world as Doctor Thunder", created a movie called "The Marsyla Movie" and posted it on You Tube. It has pictures of various times in our lives along with background music and credits at the end. (type in, "The Marsyla Movie" to view it)
A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, February 12, from 2 PM until the 3 PM Memorial Service in Family Worship Church Of The Assemblies of God, Moose Lake.
