Lester A. Duesler
Lester A. Duesler, 91, Barnum, died on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake.
Lester was born in Skelton Township, Carlton County on January 19, 1922 to Carl and Ethel Duesler. The family moved to Barnum Township 3 ½ miles east of Barnum in 1930. Lester attended the Central School and later Barnum High School graduating in 1939. He farmed by himself until 1945 when he married Eleanor Bell. They moved to their farm on Lone Oak Drive where they farmed Guernsey, Ayrshire, and later Dutch Belted Cattle. In 1962, Lester and Eleanor owned and operated Duesler Coffee Shop until 1982. They continued farming through the years until 1989 when they retired from farming. Lester enjoyed flea markets and yard sales through his retirement years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; son-in-law: Merritt Brown; his parents: Carl and Ethel Duesler; and two brothers: Fred Duesler and Walter Duesler.
Lester will be lovingly remembered by his son: Tom (Sonja) Duesler; his daughter: Kathleen Brown; two grandchildren: Tom (Sally) Brown and Mike (Laura) Brown; and seven great grandchildren: Jezie, Christopher, Emilie, Cadence, Jesse, Brandon, and Lauren.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 1 PM until the 2 PM Memorial Service on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Barnum Community United Methodist Church. Private Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Barnum.
