Lester Joseph Hendrickson of Sturgeon Lake, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home. Lester was born in Superior, WI in March of 1928. He was adopted into the home of Ole and Martha Hendrickson, east of Barnum in the fall of 1929 and attended Barnum Schools. Lester was united in marriage to Catherine Carlson in February of 1950. Together they raised 4 children while Lester drove gas transport and farmed.
Lester was a humble and generous person. A really good man, a great husband and father, friend and neighbor and an exceptional grandfather.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents; 1 grandson, Spc. Thomas Karl Johnson and 1 sister, Elizabeth Holm.

Lester is survived by Catherine, his wife of 63 years; son, Russell (Kathy) Hendrickson of Superior, WI; daughters, Diane (Joe) Piette of Esko, Jean (Jim Hammitt) Hendrickson of Sturgeon Lake and Mary Johnson of Savage; 7 grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, January 16, from 5-7 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Friday, January 17, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service in Salem Lutheran Church, Mahtowa.
