Loretta Jean Olesen, 86, of Blaine, formerly of Moose Lake, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 in Comfort First Assisted Living, Blaine.  She was born August 10, 1931 in Finlayson Township to Clifford and Laura (McMillin) Greenwald.  Loretta graduated from Sandstone High School in 1950.  She was united in marriage to Elliott Olesen on July 9, 1950 in Askov.  Loretta worked for many years in the kitchen of Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake until retiring.  She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake for over 50 years and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Moose Lake.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, garage sales and collecting angels.  Loretta loved to entertain friends and family with many meals and parties.  For years she and Elliott went on camping and fishing trips all over the country with their pickup and camper.  Elliott would do the cooking and Loretta would do the setup and cleanup.  They enjoyed 54 years of marriage in the home they built in Moose Lake.  When Elliott passed away in 2004, Loretta moved to Cambridge until she went into assisted living in Blaine in 2009.

Loretta is preceded in death by her husband, Elliott; her parents; son, Roger; grandsons, Michael and Douglas; daughter-in-law, Debra.

Loretta is survived by sons, Dennis (Cheryl) Olesen of Ham Lake and Dale (Crystal) Olesen of Prescott, AZ; twin sister, Lorraine Peter of Bloomington; brother, Thomas (Leah) Greenwald of Orange, CA and Richard (Margaret) Greenwald of Berryville, VA; grandchildren, Keith, Michael, Melissa, Kayla, Kelsey, Adam, Luc and Lan; great grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Nicole, Megan, Corey, Lindsey and Vincent.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Askov.  Interment will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Askov.
