Lucia Lane
Ledoux
June 6, 1942 – April 1, 2026
Lucia Lane LeDoux, 83, passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 1, 2026, at New Perspective Senior Living in Barnum. She was born on June 6, 1942 in Kimball Minnesota as the fourth of nine children to Clifford and Elsie (Branson) Lekander. Lucia grew up in Kimball and Barnum and graduated from Barnum High School. In High School, she was known as one of "the Blonde Bombers" on the Barnum Bombers cheerleading team along with her sister Jean.
On July 22, 1972, Lucia married Michael J. LeDoux, Jr. in Duluth. Together, they shared a life of adventure and service. While living in Oliver, Wisconsin, Lucia supported her community alongside Michael during his time as Mayor and Fire Chief, organizing town picnics and the women's auxiliary fire department, raising horses and providing child daycare for neighborhood friends. As a young mother, she attained the remarkable achievement of becoming the first female solo skydiver in Minnesota. Later, the couple moved to Wascott, Wisconsin, where they owned and operated a popular lake resort and campground destination for ten years. They eventually settled in Blackhoof Township where they enjoyed their retirement near family.
Lucia was the heart of her family and was known for her deep devotion to her children, grandchildren, siblings and many, many extended family members and friends. She would go out of her way to do or give anything she could for them. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking, coffee time with "the town ladies", trips to visit loved ones in other states, and organizing large holiday gatherings and family reunions. Lucia cherished any time she could spend with her family and friends. She was known for her love of taking long walks with them and for her healthy lifestyle and neat appearance. She walked through life with grace and a deep love for those around her.
Lucia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Michael; her daughter, Brenda (LeDoux) Berg; father, Clifford Lekander; mother, Elsie Lekander; brothers, Randy Lekander, Jim Lekander and Clayton Lekander; and sister, Ann (Lekander) Mix; and former husband Kenneth Anderson.
She is survived by her children: sons, Brandon (Becky) LeDoux; Kent (Natalie) Anderson; Allen (Julieanne) Anderson; daughters, Danette Anderson and Michelle LeDoux; sister and best friend: Jean Lekander-Saylor; and brothers: Stanford Lekander, Cliffton Lekander and Stuart Lekander. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Emily LeDoux, Lindy LeDoux, Caitlin Anderson-Smith, Rebecca Anderson-Wilson, Taylor Anderson-Nemec, Larry Lawrence, Taylor Hanson, Mallory Thorne, Leah Berg and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Salem Mahtowa Hall on Saturday, May 16th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of New Perspective Senior Living in Barnum and St. Croix Hospice for the exceptional care and respect given to Lucia during her final days.
