Obituary

Lurene "Susie" Schweiger

Lurene "Susie" Schweiger, 83 Kerrick, waltzed into heaven Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Pine Medical Health Care Center, Sandstone. She was born in Stewartville, MN on August 4, 1930 to Eldred and Adella Parker. At a young age, Lurene moved to Kerrick where she grew up and attended school. On July 26, 1952, Lurene "Susie" Parker married Tony Schweiger in Kerrick. Lurene worked with her parents at Parks Bar from the time she was very young and continued with the business after her parents passed away until 1976. She also owned and operated Kerrick Sales with Tony where they sold Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Susie was very supportive of Tony and working with him as they were instrumental in developing the snowmobile trail system in Northern Pine County. She was very active in the community and was a member of the Northern Pine Riders Snowmobile Club, Nemadji Sportsmen Club and the Promoters Club and also caretaker for Riverside Cemetery in Kerrick. She truly loved life, people and her family especially, her three grandsons. She loved dancing, snowmobiling, fishing, traveling, hunting, playing cards, helping others and going for rides around the countryside looking for wildlife. Socializing was just a part of who she was. She loved company and the coffee pot was always on; no matter what time of day it was. There was never a dull moment with her wonderful sense of humor, including her well known "turkey trot" which most of you have either experienced or witnessed at one time or another.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eldred and Adella Parker, husband Tony Schweiger and son Bruce Schweiger.

Susie will be loving remembered and missed, but never forgotten by her daughter Cindy (Ron) Messer of Princeton; three grandsons Brandon, Curt and Cory Messer and daughter-in-law Sylvia Schweiger, special cousins, family and numerous friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continue from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Monday, August 19, 2013 in Oak Lake Lutheran Church, Kerrick. Pastor Nathan Anderson will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Brandon Messer, Curt Messer, Cory Messer, Dale Eppenberger, Terry Peterson, Ron Messer, Bob House, and Rolly Lund. Honorary Bearers will be Ron Johnson, Bernie Eschweiler, Jim Murphy, and Lloyd DeMars. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Kerrick.
