Lyle Edward Almquist, 83, of Moose Lake passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at "The Village"- Augustana Care Center, Moose Lake. Lyle was born on April 20, 1938 in Moose Lake, the son of Carl "Eddy" and Gertrude (Heglund) Almquist.

Lyle married Patricia Alberg on October 17, 1964 in Moose Lake. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Cara.

Lyle served his country in the United States Airforce from July 20, 1959 until July 19, 1965. He worked for Diamond Brands as a laborer for 41 years, before his career as a custodial engineer at Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake.

Lyle was a member of the VFW and Moose Lake Historical Society, where he shared is interest for the railroad and history. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and was a collector of much, however, Lyle's eyes lit up when he was surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Gertrude; brother, Jim Almquist; and sister-in-law, Barb Almquist.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia Almquist; daughter, Cara Keinanen of Moose Lake; and special son-in-law, Todd Keinanen of Moose Lake; grandchildren, Kiaya Plews of Cloquet, Eli (Lena Ranta) Plews, and Garrett Keinanen all of Moose Lake; great-grandchildren, Memphis, Zackarius, Marley and Phoenix; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to Moose Lake Historical Society (Depot) or "The Village" – Augustana Care Center for the Garden.

Visitation: 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday June 2, 2021 until the 11:00 A.M. Celebration of Life at Moose Lake Covenant Church. A luncheon will follow in the Church Auditorium. Inurnment will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Sturgeon Lake on a later date.
