Obituary

Mable Lillian Larson, 94, of Moose Lake, died Friday, July 24, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. She was born December 16, 1914 in Hannah, Alberta, Canada to Archibald and Martha (Wolby) Gillies. Mable grew up in Winnipeg, Canada and attended both the Winnipeg Academy of Arts and Jon Bjarnason Icelandic Academy of Winnipeg. She was united in marriage to Louis Kenneth Larson in Winnipeg, Canada. Mable was a Recreational Therapist at the Moose Lake State Hospital and a long time volunteer at the Moose Lake Public Library as well as a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Moose Lake. She enjoyed all arts and crafts, painting, weaving, music, traveling and camping. Mable also played the Piano and Violin. She was an all-around nurturer of education for her children and grandchildren.

Mable is survived by 1 son, Kenneth (Patricia) Larson of Sturgeon Lake; 2 daughters, Janice (Mohamed) Razaq of Algonquin, IL and Ruth Ann (Delbert Lehto) Larson of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Andrew Larson, Miriam Van Dyck, Aminah Gigstad, Nadia Sutton and Sarah Razaq; great grandchildren, Samuel Van Dyck, Sophie Van Dyck, Jens Gigstad and Morgan Sutton; 4 nieces.

Mable is preceded in death by her parents; husband, L. Kenneth; brother, Woodrow Gillies; ½ brother, Elmer Johnson.
