Marian Gerard

Marian Gerard, 94, Moose Lake, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Oakview Assisted Living, Moose Lake.

She was born January 10, 1922 in Finlayson to Rudolph and Hilma Hannu. Marian held a variety of jobs through the years from helping on the farm to being a grocery clerk in Finlayson and Willow River. She later worked in the medical field in Moose Lake, Virginia, and Milwaukee.


Marian had a deep faith in the Lord and was always a very positive person looking for the best in everyone and everything. She especially loved and was well known for her beautiful gardens, cooking, traveling, and entertaining friends and family. Marian always enjoyed planning and hosting parties for special occasions.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Armas Hannu and Roy Hannu; sister: Evelyn Paukner, and husband: August Brabec who passed in 1958.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Eugene of Moose Lake; daughter: Karen Nelson; grandchildren: Melissa Nelson and Tim (Abbey) Nelson all of Sturgeon Lake; great grandchildren: Stephanie Keinanen, Evan, Ayden, Nolan, Sophia, & Greyson Nelson; and a great great granddaughter arriving in June.
Marian is now at rest with the Lord and all her loved ones gone before. She will be missed by many.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 2PM until the 3 PM Memorial Service on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
