Obituary

Marian Marie Jernigan, 93, of Moose Lake, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 in St. Clare Living Community of Mora. She was born December 6, 1922 in Breckenridge to Gustav and Selma (Schultz) Hendrickson. Marian lived throughout central Minnesota in her younger years. Marian was united in marriage to Dale Rowland, with whom she had all of her children. They were married for 25 years before they divorced. Marian was united in marriage to Earl Jernigan on June 25, 1970 in Milaca. They lived in McGregor and Split Rock on the North Shore before moving to Moose Lake. Marian worked as a Park Attendant at both the Moose Lake and Split Rock State Parks. Marian volunteered extensively. She was a very active member of Hope Lutheran Church and its Ruth Circle. She also volunteered at Mercy Health Care Center and was involved in prison ministry. Marian was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake as well as Moose Lake American Legion Auxiliary. Marian enjoyed crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her family. She also enjoyed riding bike and cross country skiing in her younger years.

Marian is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jernigan; her parents; 1 son, David Rowland; siblings, Harold Hendrickson, Bernice Love, Alfred Hendrickson, Willis Hendrickson and Raymond Hendrickson.

Marian is survived by her children, Mary (Robert Casey) Rowland, Danny (Carla) Rowland, Richard (Cathrine) Rowland, Paul (Robin) Rowland; two step-children, Jean Jernigan and Kelli (Rob) Damiani; grandchildren, Pepper Glick, Cory Rowland, Genea Munson, Krista Casey, Thomas Casey, Nichole Rowland, Angela Rowland, Zach Rowland, Aliya Rowland and Kylee Rowland; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lillian Gothberg.

Visitation will be Friday, December 18, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
