Marie A. Folz
Marie A. Folz, 94, Moose Lake, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at her home in Moose Lake. She was born on February 12, 1918 in Olivia, MN to Frank and Louise Polansky. Marie moved with her family to Minneapolis and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1936. She worked for the Ma Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator and later as a registered nurse. On May 14, 1947, Marie married Clarence Folz in Minneapolis. They moved to Moose Lake where Marie and Clarence owned and operated Folz Studio. Marie also worked as a temporary nurse at the Moose Lake State Hospital and Mercy Hospital. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake and its St. Ann's Guild. In her younger years, Marie was very active in the Girl Scouts in Moose Lake for 16 years and she also enjoyed oil painting.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 2002; 4 sisters: Frances Casey, Louise Standing, Elizabeth Smith, and Gertrude O'Shea; and a brother: Henry Polansky.
She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Stefani (Roger) Shaner of Sandy, UT; Joe (Adelle) Folz of Barnum; Mary (Mike) Jasielum of Hertford, NC; and Fred Folz of Moose Lake; grandson: Stephen and Lisa of Ames, IA; granddaughter: Sarah and Eric of West Jordan, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11 AM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Father Eamonn Boland will be the celebrant. Regi Garvey and the Holy Angels Choir will provide the music. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moose Lake.
