Marilyn Bloom
Marilyn Bloom, 70, Nickerson, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her home. She was born in Omaha, NE on January 5, 1945 to Vernon "Bud" and Geraldine Peck. Marilyn grew up and attended school in Nebraska. She moved to Red Wing, MN in 1971. Marilyn married Harry Bloom in Watertown, South Dakota on November 4, 1972. She was a First Responder and also a Basic Life Support Instructor whom had an immense passion for teaching several local first responders. Marilyn had received several awards for her dedication and service to Emergency Medical Services. Marilyn also worked as an LPN at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth and later at Mercy Health Care Center until retiring in 2004. She was a member of Oak Lake Lutheran Church. Marilyn loved to sing and play guitar, nurture her plants and gardens, and spend time with her family especially her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon "Bud" and Geraldine Peck; and a great grandson: Malekai Riley.
Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Harry; three children: Randy (Jeanette) Riley of Sandstone; Robert (Sonia) Riley of Sturgeon Lake; and Eric (Michelle) Bloom of Milford, KS; 6 grandchildren: Jamie Riley, Melanie Riley, Dan (Courtney) Riley, Vanessa Riley, Jonathan (Hailey) Noonan, and Andrew Noonan; 3 great grandchildren: Liam Riley, Lucia Riley, Joel Kohler; a sister: Connie (Paul) Wiles of Louisville, NE; and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be from 3-5 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continue on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 1 PM until the 2 PM service at Oak Lake Lutheran Church, Kerrick. Pastor Nathan Anderson will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Randy Riley, Robert Riley, Eric Bloom, Rick Bloom, Loren Bloom, and Lyle Bloom. Burial will be in Oak Lake Community Cemetery, Kerrick.
