Obituary

Marion E. Folsted

Marion E. Folsted went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 22, 2014. She was born December 11, 1926 to Ernest and Ina Newbloom in Moose Lake. She married Arthur L. Folsted on January 20, 1947 and they made their home in Moose Lake, raising four children. Marion was a wonderful homemaker, baker, and cook and always kept the coffee pot on for daily drop-in company along with her homemade cinnamon rolls and cookies. She loved being home with her children when they were young, and when they grew older she became a home health aide, which gave her great joy and allowed her to use her gift for caring and loving people. She was known for giving hugs and an "I love you" to everyone she met. She loved reading, garage sales, impromptu singing, and watching Wheel of Fortune. But most of all she loved her Lord and her family. She was a member of the Moose Lake Covenant Church.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur; brothers Ernest (Buddy) and Thomas; sister, Shirley, and a great, great granddaughter, Jessie. She is survived by sisters, Lorraine, Eleanor, Delores, and Barbara, all of Moose Lake and Joyce of Poplar; her four children, Michael (Lynn) Folsted of Sturgeon Lake, Sherry (Scott) Seglem of Wrenshall, Jacqueline (Lyn) Nelson of Gilbert, and Tim (Barbara) Folsted of Duluth, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Augustana Kenwood Assisted Living where Marion lived for the past 11 years for their excellent care, as well as the nurses, aides, and Hospice team at Augustana Care Center for their kindness and compassion during her last days there.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home in Moose Lake. At Marion's request, a private family service will be held following the visitation.
