Mark D. Schuett

Mark D. Schuett, 65, Giese, died peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the comfort of his home after battling cancer. He was born on October 31, 1950 in Mora to Donald and Martha Schuett. He grew up in Giese and attended school in Finlayson graduating in 1968. Mark was drafted into the Army in 1970 and served as a Military Police Officer. He returned to Giese and worked for Northland Concrete in Finlayson and in the Twin Cities. Mark also worked for Mensing Masonry in Finlayson. He later worked at Izaty's Resort. On April 7, 1989, Mark married Kathy Schatz in Pine City. Mark was known for being a handyman for the neighborhood and enjoyed helping others. He was a member and trustee at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giese. Mark was also a member of the Finlayson Sportsmans Club and loved hunting, fishing, and being in the woods.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Martha Schuett.

Mark will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy; step-children: Kam Silva, Nicole Sickler, and Robert Silva; sister: Susan (Tom Mueller) Molloy; and nephew: DJ (Christine) Molloy and their sons: Dillion, Colton, and Brendon.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Giese. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Giese.
