Marlene Audrey Gockowski

Marlene Audrey Gockowski, 87, Moose Lake, formerly of Stillwater, died Tuesday, December 24, 2019 in Moose Lake.  She was born on September 1, 1932 in Jamestown, ND to Clyde and Lillian Wescom.  Marlene grew up on a farm outside of Jamestown and graduated from highschool in Jamestown.  After school, she moved to St. Paul and worked at Montgomery Wards.  In November 1952, Marlene married Eugene Gockowski and to this union two children were born: Roxanne and Ron.  She was a homemaker through the years.  After her children were older, she began working at Webb Publishing in St. Paul where she worked for 35 years, retiring in 1994.  In 1998, she moved to Stillwater to be closer to her son and in July 2019 she moved to Moose Lake and lived with her daughter.  Marlene loved gardening both food and flowers.  She canned many foods and made great pickles.  Marlene loved to spend time with her grandkids and family, was an avid reader, cross stitched, and made the best fried chicken!

She was preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Lillian Wescom; former husband: Eugene Gockowski; and two brothers: Virgil Wescom and Jerry Wescom.

Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Roxanne (Ron) Jusczak of Moose Lake and Ron (Susan) Gockowski of Stillwater; 8 grandchildren: Peter K. (Kim) Jusczak, Lucas (Jen Addleman) Jusczak, Danielle Larson, Travis (Kim) Jusczak, Madeleine (Matt) Hermann, Katherine Gockowski, Aaron Gockowski, and Justin Gockowski; 8 great grandchildren: Julia Jusczak, Aiden Larson, Jorja Jusczak, Raegen Larson, Jenna Jusczak, Brennon Larson, Leo Jusczak, and Hazel Jusczak; a brother: Donald Wescom of Isle; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from Noon until the 1 PM Celebration of Life on Friday, January 3, 2020 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Private family inurnment will take place in Spring 2020.
