Martha Johanna Isaacson, 95, of Moose Lake, formerly of Kettle River, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born October 8, 1919 in Brocket, ND to Charles and Reeda (Kurkinen) Hill. Martha was united in marriage to Arnie Isaacson on October 8, 1949 in Kettle River. She was a member of the Kettle River Snowmobile Club for many years as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Post #360 of Kettle River. Martha milked cows on the family farm for many years. She also worked at the Carlton Nursing Home (Interfaith) in Carlton and operated the Kettle River Restaurant. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people, dancing, going on picnics and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnie Isaacson; 4 children, LaVerna Shelton, William Eskuri, Sr., Beverly Wicklund and an infant son, Arvid.

Martha is survived by 3 children, Arne (Judy) Isaacson of Moose Lake, Shelby Eskuri of Minneapolis and Alvin (Peggy) Eskuri of Hinckley; 1 sister, Viena Bakka; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, November 4, from Noon until the 1 PM Memorial Service in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Inurnment will be at a later date in Leonard Cemetery, Kalevala Township.
