Martha A. Zuk

Martha A. Zuk, 85, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born on May 26, 1925 in Moose Lake to Walter and Josephine Wojtysiak. Martha grew up in Kettle River where she attended school. She worked on the family farm in Silver Township. On May 29, 1948, Martha married Louie Zuk in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Split Rock Twp. They lived in St. Paul until 1952 when they moved to Moose Lake. Martha was a homemaker through the years and loved to cook and bake. It made her even more proud to provide meals for people and she would often encourage them by telling them, "Eat, because I know you like it!" If you left her home hungry, it was your own fault. Martha also loved crossword puzzles and playing cards. She was a devoted member to Holy Angels Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her son: David; daughter-in-law: Linda Zuk; her parents: Walter and Josephine Wojtysiak; five brothers: Joe, Walter, Ignatz, Tony, and Lewis Wojtysiak; and a sister: Rose Magdziarz.

Martha will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years: Louie; five children: Sharon (Dan) Olson of Willow River; Jeanette Sandstrom of Duluth; Tom Zuk of Kettle River; Barbara (Reggie) Anderson of Brainerd; and Paul (June) Zuk of Brainerd; daughter-in-law: Nancy Zuk of Moose Lake;
14 Grandchildren;
2 Great Grandchildren; and 5 sister-in-laws: Martha Pec; Rosie Szustek; Mina Zuk; Iola Wojtysiak; and Helen Wojtysiak.

Visitation was on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 6-8 PM with Rosary at 7:30 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, August 31 at 11 AM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake with visitation at the church one hour prior to Mass. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
