Mary Nordlund, 63, Kettle River, died suddenly on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at her home while taking care of her lawn and flowers, which was one of her favorite hobbies. Mary was born on November 16, 1959 in Sandstone to Jim and Madelyn Adelsgruber. She lived in Kettle River and attended Cromwell High School, graduating in 1977. After high school, Mary became trained for a Lab Tech. She worked as a Lab Tech at the Moose Lake State Hospital until the facility closed and then began working in Records at Corrections until retiring in 2003. She married Vernon Nordlund on March 24, 1996 in Key West, Florida. Mary was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Moose Lake. She loved flower gardening, reading, computer games, and snowmobiling.
She is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Milczark in 2004; parents: Jim and Madelyn Adelsgruber; and two brothers: Wally Adelsgruber and Michael Adelsgruber.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Vernon; son: Luke (Katie) Milczark; grandson: Reed Milczark; two brothers: Gregory (Barbara) Adelsgruber and Jamie (Deborah) Adelsgruber; sister-in-law: Janet Adelsgruber; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake followed by a prayer service at 7 pm. Private inurnment will be in West Branch Cemetery, Kalevala Twp.
