Melvin D. Psyk, 72, of Sturgeon Lake, died Sunday, December 21, 2008 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born October 11, 1936 in Big Lake to Matthew and Florence (Long) Psyk. Melvin was united in marriage to Karen Anderson on October 10, 1962 in Monticello. Melvin was employed as a project superintendent with Arcon Sewer and Water of Harris for 17 years and later with R & G Waldhalm Contractors of Sturgeon Lake until his retirement. Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking agates, cutting wood and reading.

Melvin is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his parents; 1 brother, LeRoy; 1 niece, Glory.

Melvin is survived by 1 son Douglas (Betty Sundermeyer) Psyk of Sturgeon Lake; 1 daughter, Amy Mabrey of Troup, TX; 1 sister, Pearl (Roger) Swanson of Buffalo; 1 brother, Kenneth (Adelia) Psyk of Phoenix, AZ.
