Michael Walter Stransky, 66, resident of Sturgeon Lake, died unexpectedly at his home on September 27 th , 2021. He was born on September 16 th , 1955 in the Twin Cities.
Mike grew up and graduated high school in the Twin Cities. He had a strong work ethic from the start. After high school he worked all over the metro, primarily fixing and changing tires at Pop's Tires. Mike relocated to Sturgeon Lake in his 50's and loved living in nature. He worked for various local businesses including Doc's Bar and Grill, Junction Tire, Mlaskoch Excavating & Contracting, and as a well-known and well-liked handyman doing window washing, roofing, machine repair, and anything else he could help people with. Mike was a workaholic at heart, always tinkering and keeping busy, but also loved to fish when he had spare time. He would be the first to give the shirt off his back and will be remembered for his kind and giving ways.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Stransky.
Mike will be forever remembered by his daughter, Gwen; best friend whom was like a brother, Tony Miskowic; and special friends, Denise and "Burgy" Burggraff, Fred Folz, and Shawn Dee.
A visitation to honor Mike's life will be held on Monday, October 4 th , 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00pm in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held immediately after in Blomskog Cemetery, Sturgeon Lake.
