Michael Bruce Vogel, age 79, died April 4, 2020 in Moose Lake, Minnesota, due to complications of Alzheimer's. He was born April 28, 1940 in Pekin, Illinois, to William and Blanche Vogel. He graduated from Mahtomedi High School in 1958. He attended the University of St. Thomas for two years and earned his Bachelor of Science in education from St. Cloud State University. He also earned a master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught science and math at Moose Lake High School from 1964 to 1998, where he also served as the school's first computer coordinator, advised Knowledge Bowl, and coached boy's hockey, boy's and girl's track and field, and football (the latter as an assistant coach). He also started the amateur hockey association in Moose Lake; was a volunteer fire fighter for many years; and a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years Terrell (Notebaart) Vogel, their four children and families: Paul Vogel, wife Bonnie of Hermosa Beach, California, and children Madeleine, Meredith, and Caroline Vogel; Steven Vogel and his wife Sandi of Moose Lake, and children Ryan Vogel, Tanner Mikrot, and Paxton Vogel, as well as great-granddaughter Riley Vogel; Stacia Vogel of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and children Nicholas and Sydney Senne; and John Vogel and his wife Aja of Forest Lake, Minnesota, and children Aubrey and Ryker Vogel. He is also survived by his sister Angela and brother William and their families. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sisters Rose Mary and Joan.

A private Memorial Mass was held at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Moose Lake.  Private inurnment was held in Blomskog Cemetery, Windemere Twp.
