Michael John Zipoy, 59, of Denham, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 in Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. He was born July 14, 1954 in Moose Lake to Emil and Eileen (Harmon) Zipoy. Michael graduated from Willow River High School in 1972. He was employed with Jamar Inc. of Duluth as a roofer. Mike owned and operated Mikey's Bar in Denham for 23 years. Mike sponsored the Denham Girls Softball Team for many years, reaching the National Playoffs. Mike enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association. Mike is preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Dorothy Rosemore and his best friend and buddy, Kirby. Mike is survived by 3 sisters, Kathy Postal of Sturgeon Lake, Pat (Tom) Mikrot of Kettle River and Susan (Don) Eskuri of Sturgeon Lake; 13 nieces and nephews; 28 great nieces and nephews; 9 great great nieces and nephews; many, many friends. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16 from 9 AM until the 11 AM Service in Faith Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Lake. Graveside Services will be Saturday, May 3 at !:00 P.M. in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Birch Creek Township.
