Obituary

Mildred Anne Berry "Millie" was born on 12/17/1942 in the small town of Newberry, MI and was raised in neighboring Hulbert where she spent most of her life.

Millie graduated from Newberry High School and on December 23, 1961 married David Berry.

Millie spent many years traveling up and down the Tahquamenon River on the Tom Sawyer River Boat Cruise as a cook with Captain Red (Devin) and David at the helm on many of those occasions.  She worked alongside her mom Reba on both the boat and at the Hulbert Happy Hour for many years and raised 4 active boys

Dave's work on the railroad took the family across Michigan, Wisconsin & Minnesota over the years.

Millie traveled back and forth between her numerous homes for many years before settling down in Minnesota for retirement.

Millie enjoyed knitting beautiful baby sweaters, embroidering many pillowcases & wall hangings and of course making her famous Christmas stockings.

Millie LOVED BINGO – she spent many an hour playing her favorite pastime!  Her face lit up like it was Christmas morning every time someone mentioned going to BINGO with her.

In close competition to her love of Bingo were squirrels and hummingbirds (alive and in sculpture form) – how she enjoyed watching the live versions play on her numerous feeders for hours a day.

And who will remember her love of candy and Pepsi?  Many a little one (and big one) have emptied her candy dish and shared a Pepsi in her company.

Millie passed away on Monday, April 18 th , 2022, leaving behind the broken body & confusion that thwarted her last days.  May peace finally be with her.
