Monika Konieska, 77, of Moose Lake, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. She was born April 29, 1937 in Eicholf, Germany to Georg and Marie (Preiss) Gottsauner. Monika was united in marriage to Robert Konieska in May of 1955. Monika worked in the kitchen at the Moose Lake Regional Treatment Center for approximately 20 years. Monika enjoyed cooking, knitting, her flower garden, working with Bob in the business and especially spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Fishback; son-in-law, Thomas Fishback, Sr.; 5 brothers and sisters.

Monika is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Konieska of Moose Lake; 2 sons, Tony (Deborah) Konieska of Sturgeon Lake and Ron Konieska of Willmar; 9 grandchildren, Tymon (Noelle) Konieska of Moose Lake, Matthew (Mandi) Konieska of Shakopee, Krysta Konieska of Barnum, Adam Konieska of Fargo, ND, Kathryn Konieska of Austin, Thomas (Machelle) Fishback of Moose Lake, Paul Fishback of Moose Lake, Monika Fishback of Apple Valley and Brandon Fishback of Apple Valley; 2 great grandchildren, Brianna and Brook Konieska.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23, from Noon until the 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
