Obituary

Norma Hancock, 79, of Moose Lake, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday, December 25, 2015. She was born and raised in Sherwood, OH. Norma enjoyed traveling and lived in Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada and Florida with her husband Richard until they returned to Minnesota in 2011 to be closer to family. She enjoyed shopping, reading, sewing, crafts and spending time with family and friends.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Charles McMillen; 1 grandchild, Adam Hancock; brother, Chuck McMillen.

Norma will be dearly missed by Richard, her husband of 61 years; children, Sue (Dan) Benzie of Moose Lake, Cindy (Tom) Hoffman of Eagan, Randy (Diane) Hancock of Eagan and Kristi (Kelly) Bjerke of Fargo, ND; sisters, Evelyn Jones of Florida and Dianna (Jim) Walls of Michigan. Grandma Norma will always be cherished by her grandchildren, Jason (Tonya), James (Emily), Christopher (Ashley), Katie (Josh), Laura, Patrick, David and Ryan; great grandchildren, Josie, Jamie, Nolan, Blake, Adam and Cameron.

Norma will be lovingly remembered for her joyful laughter, caring nature and the warmth with which she welcomed new family members. She inspired her family with her strength, courage and grace. Norma's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Sande, MD and to nurses, Barb, Dana and Jenny at Mercy Hospital for their compassionate care.

A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials suggested to the Mercy Foundation, 4572 Co Rd 61, Moose Lake, MN 55767 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
