Norma Evelyn (Puntila) Little

Norma Evelyn Little, 83, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Benedictine Health Care Center, Duluth.  She was born on April 7, 1934 in Moose Lake to Sulo and Hilma Puntila.  Norma graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1952.  She worked at the Moose Lake Co-op prior to marrying Gerald Little on July 23, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  She was a homemaker through the years and had also worked at the Moose Lake State Hospital and Red Owl in Moose Lake.  Norma enjoyed belonging to the North Road Homemakers group.  She truly had the gift to gab.  Norma liked to knit, crochet, and was a great seamstress and loved creating clothing for her kids and grandchildren.  She enjoyed birds, music, and flower gardening.  Norma's true love was her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; five brothers: Swen Harju, Allen Puntila, Milton Puntila, Robert Puntila, and Wayne Puntila; and three sisters: Erma Renstrom, Marilyn Johnson, and Sonja Puntila.

Norma will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Linda K. (Philip) Escher of St. Paul; Scott (Kim) Little of Golden, CO; Kerry (Terri) Little of Zimmerman, Jeanne (Mark) Dugas of Silver Bay; and Thomas (Lora) Little of Duluth; 8 grandchildren: David, Patrick, Nathan, Alicia, Adam, Bradley, Nicole, and Allen; an anticipated great grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from Noon until the 1 PM Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Inurnment will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.  The family would like to thank New Perspective Senior Living in  Cloquet and Benedictine Health Care Center in Duluth for their excellent and compassionate care of Norma.
