Olga L. Lang, 99, of Moose Lake, died surrounded by family on Sunday, September 28, 2008, in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born April 9, 1909 in Darling, Minnesota to John and Olga (Skogberg) Mattson. She grew up in the Darling area until she was sixteen when she left to seek employment as a live-in house keeper maid for families in St. Paul. While there she met and married Jacob Lang on January 12, 1929. They lived in Robbinsdale and Spring Lake Park and lived their retirement years in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Jacob died in 1971 and Olga continued to make her home in Lindstrom where she was active in her church, volunteering at the Parmley Nursing Home, and entertained her grandchildren when they made their many visits. In 1987 Olga made the move to Moose Lake and lived in Hillside Manor East. Here in Moose Lake she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, continuing to make many new friends and the beautiful sites of the area where she enjoyed her love of walking. The last 4 ½ years she has been a resident of Mercy Health Care Center. She will be remembered for her baking, especially her dark bread, cinnamon rolls and lefse. Sewing was another talent that she shared. The clothes she made for her grandchildren have been passed down to her great grandchildren. She will also be remembered as a great care giver. At some time she has taken care of most of us. Olga was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Erling, brothers, Hollis, Alan, Leonard & Einar and sister, Austrid Edstrom.
