Orva T. Evensen

Orva T. Evensen, 80, Moose Lake, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Home and Comfort Assisted Living in Coleraine. He was born in Hibbing on May 11, 1935 to Joel and Lillian Evensen. Orv attended Hibbing High School. He worked many years as a Local 49 Union Operator while living in the Twin Cities area. In 1976, Orv married Lil Nummela in Willow River. They lived in Barnum for a short time before moving to Moose Lake. Orv loved 4-wheeling and was a member of the Evergrenn PAC ATV Club. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Orv was preceded in death by his wife, Lil Nummela-Evensen; father: Joel Evensen; and mother: Lillian Evensen.

Orv is survived by step-sons from his marriage to Lil: Randy (Pat) Nummela of Brook Park; Terry (Julie) Nummela of Moose Lake; and Tim (Kris) Nummela of Anoka; grandchildren: Amy, Andy, Kyle, Shawn, Tory, Destany, Trevor, Kendra, Cole, Anna, and Leah; another step-son: Steve Snyder; brothers: David (Sharon) Evensen of Grand Rapids; James Evensen of Hibbing; and Roy Evensen of Grand Rapids; his sisters: Alice (Lynn) Minter of Hibbing; Bernice (Donald) Wollin of Grand Rapids; Carol Evensen of Hibbing; Lily Steir of Burnsville; Barb Evensen of Burnsville; and Terry Froemming of Hibbing; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 2 PM until the 3 PM service on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Spring Inurnment will be in Wright Catholic Cemetery.
