Obituary

Patricia A. Harper, 75, of Sturgeon Lake, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Solvay Hospice House of Duluth. She was born January 11, 1935 in Duluth to Wilbur and Ruby (Anderson) Riegert. Patricia lived in South Dakota for 6 years before moving to Proctor where she attended school, graduating from Proctor High School in 1953. Patricia then went on to attend St. Luke's School of Nursing. She was united in marriage to Ramon Kaspszak on March 17, 1956 in Duluth. Ramon and Patricia lived in Lakeside and later in Hermantown. Patricia worked for 15 years at St. Luke's Hospital as and RN. She also worked for Hyland Division of Baxter Laboratories, Benedictine Health Care Center of Duluth and later at St. Mary's Hospice for 4 years until 1990. Patricia was united in marriage to her second husband, Joseph Harper on July 21, 1990 in Duluth. They lived in Lakewood until moving to Moose Lake in 1994. Patricia was also a volunteer at Mercy Health Care Center. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, dominoes and oil and water color painting.

Patricia is preceded in death by her first husband Ramon Kaspszak; her parents; 1 sister, Theresa Marshall; and an infant daughter: Karen.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Joe Harper; 5 children, Mike (Penny) Kaspszak of Madison, WI, Bob (Marcy) Kernez of Duluth, Kathy (Dave Lundgren) Kaspszak of Cloquet, Jim (Mary) Kaspszak of Duluth and Brian (Veronica) Kaspszak of Duluth; 5 step children, Steve Harper of St. Paul, Sue (Steve) Huszar of Oshkosh, WI, Guy (Tess) Harper of Princeton, Becky (Rob) Hill of Chicago, IL and Tony Harper of Sartell; 21 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Jean Fritze of Portland, OR.

Visitation was on Thursday, August 5, from Noon until the 1 PM service in Moose Lake United Methodist Church. Interment was on Friday, August 6, at 10 AM in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth.
