Paul Matthew Ward, 91, Albert Lea, formerly of Mahtowa and Moose Lake, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in St. John's on Fountain Lake in Albert Lea.  Paul was born on June 27, 1933 in Pelican Rapids to Paul and Agnes Ward.  Paul lived most of his life in Minnesota and worked as a carpenter for Nordaas American Homes in southern Minnesota.  On October 7, 1951, Paul married Doris Larson in Mahtowa.  Paul loved telling people about Jesus and sharing the Word of the Lord.  In his younger years, Paul enjoyed deer hunting and rebuilding tractors.  He also loved to fish with his grandson, Nick, and tinker with small engines.  Often, you would find Paul fixing up fishing poles and tackles boxes to give away to kids.  In his later years, Paul lived at the assisted living in Moose Lake and Sandstone before moving to Albert Lea.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; son: Gregory Ward; parents: Paul and Agnes Ward; sisters: Evelyn Ward, Marie Laursen, and Rosalie Rose; and a son-in-law: Thomas Grunewald.

Paul will be lovingly remembered by his 5 children: Debra (Mel) Graupmann; Cheryl Grunewald; Julianne Sweetland; Theresa (Joe) Curtis; and Paul "PD" (Idell) Ward; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private family service will be held with inurnment in Mount Salem Cemetery, Mahtowa.
