Peggy Ann Engstrom, 76, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at her home.  She was born on March 29, 1949 in Pierre, South Dakota to Raymond and Catherine Marshall.  Peggy grew up in Blunt, SD where she graduated in 1967 as Valedictorian of her class at Blunt High School.  She attended Northern State University in Aberdeen and taught in Rapid City, SD and Wall, SD before moving to California.  On June 19, 1976, Peggy married William Engstrom in Riverside, CA.  They moved to Nebraska where Peggy attended the University of Nebraska Omaha and attained her Masters in Reading and Learning Disabilities.  She also received her accounting degree from Bellevue College in Omaha.  Peggy and Bill lived all over the United States while Bill served in the United States Air Force.  She left a legacy of helping others while volunteering for the Red Cross Youth Volunteering Program on Air Bases around the country and helping with financial literacy by assisting Junior Airmen in filing their taxes.  In 1996, they moved to Apple Valley and Peggy taught in the Rosemount and Eagan School Districts.  She was also a dedicated volunteer for ESL (English as a Second Language) in Apple Valley.  Peggy enjoyed home renovation projects and put her skills to use as they built their current home on Sand Lake where they have resided since 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Catherine Marshall.

Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill; two children: Marshall and his wife, Katie Engstrom and Catherine and her husband, Steve Papp; eight grandchildren: Oliver, Collin, William, Evie, Wesley, Brandon, Trudy, and Maggie; six siblings: Carol, Debbie, Denise, Mary, Tim, and Jeff; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from Noon until the 1 pm service on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the ALS Association in Peggy's memory.
