Phil Berkheimer, 57, of Esko, died unexpectedly, Saturday, November 8, 2008.  He was born February 25, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Earl and Harriet (Shepard) Berkheimer.  Phil was a member of the Katie Poirier Task Force and a former Esko Fireman.  Before retiring, Phil was a Photo Journalist with both the Proctor Journal and the Hermantown Star.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and was a big Green Bay Packers Fan.  He also enjoyed time with the family dogs, Ernie and Remington.

Phil is preceded in death by his father, Earl.

Phil is survived by his mother, Harriet Berkheimer of Esko; 1 daughter, Gretchen (Zebulon) Rogers of Cloquet.
