Phyllis Evelyn Kachinske, 91, of Moose Lake and Cromwell, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Villa Vista Senior Living, Cromwell. She was born in Duluth on January 14, 1925 to John and Elna (Leslie) Sylvester. Phyllis grew up and attended school at Denfeld where she graduated in 1943. She worked for Minnesota Power and Light. Phyllis was united in marriage to Louis "Louie" Kachinske on December 31, 1947 in Duluth. She and Louie lived in Duluth until they moved to Chicago in 1965 and later to Pittsburgh in 1968. In 2000, they moved to Moose Lake until moving to Cromwell in 2012. Phyllis was a wonderful cook and her family always came first. Phyllis loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Louie; her parents; 2 brothers, Arthur Canary and Raymond Sylvester; 1 sister, Burnett Hellerud.
Phyllis is survived by 1 son, Peter (Mary Ellen) Kachinske of Aurora, IL; 2 daughters, Patti Doyle of Plano, IL and Mary (Gary) Waller of Moose Lake; grandchildren, Maxwell Kachinske, Martin (Flory) Doyle, Kristi Doyle, Terry (Blythe) Aldrich, Kathleen (Lee) Packingham; great grandchildren, Zachery and Michael Doyle, Toby and T.J. Aldrich and Kaylee and Carter Packingham; numerous nieces and nephews and her Villa Vista Family. A special thank you to Villa Vista Senior Center, Essentia Health Hospice and Dr. Bode for their kindness and caring compassion.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Split Rock Township.
