Ramona Claire Petersen O'Connell, 80, of Moose Lake, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. She was born December 31, 1928 in Harrold, SD to LeRoy and Edna (Hall) Petersen. Ramona was united in marriage to Gene O'Connell on October 28, 1952 in St. Paul. Ramona was a clerk at Great Northern/Burlington Northern Railroad for 38 years. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, a volunteer for Red Cross, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Sisters of the Poor, NARBW for over 50 years and a proud member of A.A. for over 30 years. Ramona enjoyed bowling and dancing.

Ramona is preceded in death by her husband, Gene; 3 brothers; 1 sister.

Ramona is survived by her daughter, Michele "Micky" Petersen Stafford of Laguna Woods, CA; stepson, Patrick (Ellie) O'Connell of Lake Tahoe, CA; 2 step daughters, Jeananne Nowak of White Bear Lake and Colleen (David) Geary of CA; 1 brother, Donald "Bud" Petersen of CA; 2 sisters, Helen Matuseski of Moose Lake and Maxine (Milton) Kiminski of Moose Lake; 3 grandchildren, Desiree, Danielle and Davaughn; 4 step grandchildren, Terri, Jackie, Bobbi and Andi; 5 great grandchildren, Trevor, Samantha, Audrey, Ava and Alexandra; several step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake.
