Obituary

Raymond Earl Ring, age 23 of Sturgeon Lake, died Friday May 15, 2020 at his home in Oak Harbor, WA. Ray ended his life unexpectedly. He will be remembered as a kind, dedicated and loyal, son, grandson, brother, and friend.

Ray was born in Moose Lake on May 1 st , 1997 to parents William Ring and Marybeth (Langlais) Helle. Ray was a 2015 graduate of Hinckley-Finlayson High School where he was actively involved in FFA and received honor student recognition. Following his graduation Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he wished to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. Raymond attended bootcamp at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Waukegan, IL in 2015, later attending A-School in Pensacola, FL where he received specialized training to become an Aviation Electrician. He was then assigned to NAS Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, WA where he earned the rank of Petty Officer 2 nd Class in the VP-69 Totems squadron. Once his service term would come to an end in the summer of 2021, Ray had plans of attending lineman school to continue growing his knowledge and experiences.

Ray spent many hours of his life dedicated to the outdoors, the military, and his family. As a child, he would spend countless hours in the woods exploring the land. Hunting, trapping, fishing and camping beneath the stars were some of his favorite activities. Ray often came off as shy but if you knew him well you were lucky enough to witness the silly aspects of his personality and his quick, piercing wit. His drive, dedication, and loyalty allowed for him to excel at all things he chose to take on in life. He was proud of his Irish heritage and was a beloved son, grandson, brother, friend, colleague, and acquaintance to many.

Ray was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Ring; and grandmother, Maryann Langlais.

He is survived by his mother, Marybeth (Daniel) Helle; father, William (Nancy) Ring; wife, Judith Claire Ring; grandfather, Earl Langlais; grandmother, Patricia Ring; brothers, Michael and Thomas Talbot; sister, Meghan Ring; step-siblings, Rachel Kittel, Samantha (Nick) Terwey, and Shelby (Isaac) Maser; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
