Richard P. Gose

Richard P. Gose, 62, Sturgeon Lake, formerly of Montevideo and Alexandria, passed away suddenly at his home in Sturgeon Lake, MN on Monday, April 3, 2017.  He was born on October 24, 1954 in Montevideo to Mabel and Ernie Gose.  He served proudly for 20 years (1973-1993) as a NAS in the Army and was Honorably Discharged with several Special Honors.  After the Army, Richard moved back to Montevideo where he worked/managed the Channel 8 Studios (1993-1998).  Richard worked various jobs and then moved to Corpus Christi, TX and then back to Alexandria where he worked for Radio Shack, Walmart, and later working for Dunham Express in Sauk Centre, MN.  Then a great opportunity came along for Richard and his wife when they moved and became Resort Managers at Sand Lake Resort in Sturgeon Lake, MN where they currently reside.

Richard's hobbies and interests included playing drums in various bands, DJ'ing, producer/singer/songwriter, enjoying videography, camping, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and his favorite little girl (man's best friend), Molly, spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and dancing.

Richard was a generous, kind hearted man that loved people and had the gift to gab and make people laugh.  Richard was just starting to enjoy retirement at Sand Lake Resort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Ernie Gose; sister: Marion; and brother: Ronald.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by wife of 17 years, Patty; 3 children: Shannon Burke of Vancouver, WA; Paul Gose of Portland, OR; and Corey (Anne) Sorenson of Sauk Centre, MN; grandchildren: Parker, Beckham, and Jaeger Sorenson; siblings: Deanna Olson of Rapid City, SD; Don Gose of Hendricks, MN; sister-in-law: Shirley Gose of Montevideo; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family and special friends.

A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Sand Lake Resort, 94154 Hwy. 61, Sturgeon Lake, MN from 1-5 PM with a Service of Remembrance and Military Honors to be held at 2 PM.  Please feel free to share the memories and stories of Richard's life with all.
