Richard E. Johnson, 67, Sturgeon Lake, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home.  He was born on June 8, 1954 to Franklin Johnson and Beverly Whiting Johnson in Moose Lake.  Rick grew up in Sturgeon Lake and attended Willow River High School, graduating in 1972.  He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy from 1972-1976.  He went to school to learn gunsmithing and worked in that field for many years and then for R3 Baits in Moose Lake until arthritis ended his work years.  He was also a talented metal worker. He loved fishing and hunting and was an NRA member.

He was preceded in death by his father: Franklin Johnson and his sister: Nancy Johnson.

Rick will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Beverly Johnson and her life partner, Ken Keinanen of Moose Lake; five children: Natalie (Chris) Bailey and Jeremiah (Brooke) Johnson both of Randolph, ME; Matthew Johnson of Carlsbad, CA; Jennifer (Kurt) Austin of Penobscot, ME; and Franklin (Alexa) Johnson of Biddeford, ME; sister: Jayne Johnson of Mountain View, HI; brothers: Dennis Johnson and Randy Johnson of Minneapolis; and Gregory Johnson of Hastings, MN; grandchildren: Meadow, Rees, Kayleigh, Kennedy, Kole, Dominic, Frankie, and Gwen; great grandson: Jaxson.

Per Rick's wishes, there will be no services.
