Robert (Bob) Eugene Tessmer age 89 of South St Paul passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025 surrounded by family. Bob was a Private First Class in the Army, serving time in Germany. Preceded in death by wife Joan and parents Leonard and Katherine. He kept his promise to Joan and took care of his children, as well as his Mom, Dad and Aunt Mabel. He will be deeply missed by long-time companion and caregiver Sally Spiess, children Robert (Karen), Kristian (Bryan) Granfors, Cynthia Tessmer, 7 grandchildren: 11 great grandchildren. Bob was a cement mason for Borsen Construction for many years and will be remembered for his sense of humor, being the oldest male Tessmer, cooking- especially Italian sausage which he gave to everyone, having a passion for hunting and fishing, loving a good bargain, and a deep love of his family. We are grateful to Jackie and Dustin who opened their home to whomever wanted to see him after they took him in to honor his wishes to never be in the nursing home after his last stroke.
