Robert Leon Gerard, 77, Willow River, died peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 16, 1938 in Willow River to Louis and Eva Gerard. Rob attended Willow River High School graduating in 1957. After school, Rob worked construction and also did a tour on the ore boat The John T. Hutchinson Great Lakes bulk freighter. On June 9, 1961, Rob married Jane Waldow in Sturgeon Lake. Rob had worked for USS Steel in West Duluth, Moose Lake Implement, and Danelski Construction before owning and operated Gerard Enterprises. He enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, model airplanes, lathe working, his sawmill, Harley riding, and fishing. Rob was a member of the Balsa Busters R/C Airplane Club.

He was preceded in death by his son: Jason Gerard; parents: Louis & Eva Gerard; brother: Ray Gerard; and two sisters: Bea Gerard and Marge McLevis.

Rob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Jane; three children: Michelle Dembowski (Chris Bibeau) of St. Cloud; Daniel Gerard (Aaron Curtis) of Minneapolis; and Wendy (Scott) Calhoun of Willow River; two grandchildren: Brandon Dembowski and Michael Dembowski; two brothers: Louie Gerard of Duluth and Jerry (Bernice) Gerard of Willow River; and nieces and nephews.

A private family service was held with burial at Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
