Dr. Robert F. Kolosky, D.D.S., 88, of Moose Lake, passed away on December 29, 2015 at Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. Robert (Doc) was born on Mar 5, 1927 in Sturgeon Lake to John and Johanna (Danelski) Kolosky. He graduated early from Willow River High school and immediately joined the Navy. He served on the USS Erben and USS Poehand during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1947. After military service Robert attended the College of Saint Thomas and Dental School at the University of Minnesota. Robert and Carol V. Meyers were united in marriage on September 18, 1951 in Morgan and moved to Willow River. Robert practiced in Barnum and Willow River before setting up his Dental practice in Moose Lake. After practicing for over 40 years, he retired from Dentistry in 1996. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Holy Family and Holy Angels Catholic Church. Over the years he enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and hunting with his lifelong friends from the Sturgeon Lake area. He converted his properties into low cost rental apartments and provided housing in the area for many years. He was interested in local politics, often writing letters to the editor. He volunteered for Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life and incorporated the pro-life stance into his bid for local political office.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carol; his parents; daughter, Cara Lynn; grandson, Joshua; one brother, Edmund and two sisters, Isabelle and Gertrude.
Doc is survived by his children; Kevin and Linda Kolosky of Minneapolis, Kerry Kolosky of Moose lake, Nathan Kolosky of Eagle Lake, Joeffre Kolosky of Minneapolis, Mary, Robert, John Kolosky, all of Moose Lake and Tamy Kolosky of Minneapolis; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, one brother John (Lucille) of Poughkeepsie, NY and one sister, Dorothy of Wartburg, TN numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, from 5-7 P.M. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 P.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake and will continue Monday, January 4 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at the church.
