Robert "Gene" Eugene Pince, 77, of McGrath, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake.
He was born December 14, 1931 in Superior, WI to Arthur and Helen (Drahota) Pince. Gene grew up in Arthyde where he attended school until 8th grade. He went on to attend Willow River High School, graduating in 1949. Gene is an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Doris Mecl on September 25, 1954 in Willow River. Gene and Doris lived in Duluth for a short time before moving to Brooklyn Center where Gene owned and operated a drywall business for 42 years. They moved to Bremen Township in 1998. Gene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Willow River. He enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, deer hunting and especially spending time with his family.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gregory; brother, Donald Pince.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Doris Pince; 3 daughters, Deborah Pince, Doreen Pince and Diane (Michael) Lindenfelser; 1 son, David Pince; 4 grandchildren, Michael and Christine Lindenfelser, Nicole and Joshua Pince; sister-in-law, Priscilla Pince; several nieces and nephews; many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 7, from 5-7 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and then continued Friday, May 8, from 10 – 11 AM in St. Mary's Hall, Willow River with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Willow River with Father Timothy Deutsch officiating.
