Robert E. Stenke

Robert E. Stenke, 84, Moose Lake, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake.  He was born on December 14, 1933 in Mountain Lake, MN to Louis and Ruanna Stenke.  Robert grew up in Bingham, MN and graduated from Mountain Lake High School.  A day after graduating, Robert joined the Navy on the same day as his twin brother, Rolland.  He later lived in the Champlin and Monticello areas while working for Coon Rapids Chrysler, NAPA Auto Parts, and Brookdale Ford retiring from the latter after 35 years as a Parts Manager.  Robert moved to Willow River, MN and later to Sun Bay in Sturgeon Lake.  He loved to travel through the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruanna Stenke; two brothers: Rolland and Harvey; and two sisters: Esther and Lorraine.

Robert is survived by his life partner, Cathy Byrnes; daughter: Tammy Stenke; 3 grandchildren; sister-in-law: Muwako Stenke; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held in the spring at Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
