Obituary

Robyn Odell Spiess, 59, of Moose Lake, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on All Saints Day, November 1, 2010, after a 5-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Robyn graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1969. She moved to the Moose Lake area and began working at the Regional Treatment Center in 1978 as an LPN. When the RTC closed, Robyn transferred to the MCF-WR/ML where she worked as a correctional officer until her retirement in 2005. Robyn was a member of the Moose Lake Covenant Church and worked for over 20 years as a custodian. Service to others was one of Robyn's many gifts from God. She loved life, loved her family and loved God. She touched countless lives with her genuine concern for others.
Robyn enjoyed seeing and playing with her grandchildren. Her face lit up when they arrived in her home. She also enjoyed Monday morning prayer group and Wednesday night golfing with the girls, as well as home improvement jobs. In 2005, Robyn committed herself to the Southern Carlton Relay for Life. She started a team called the Sonshine Walkers that included locals and out of town family. Robyn and her husband loved to travel and made many stops throughout the United States.

Robyn is preceded in death by her brother Kevin Lewko.

Robyn is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of Moose Lake; daughter, Jolyne (John) Askling of West Caldwell, NJ; son, Shane Hegarty of Elk River; step-son, Michael Spiess (Stacia) of Sturgeon Lake; step-daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Barnes of Esko; father and mother, John and Anita Lewko of Montrose, CO; sister, Lyn (Bruce) Thompson of Aitkin; grandchildren, Haley and Jack, Brydon and Delaney, Maxx and Grady; 1 niece, 4 nephews as well as many family and friends.
