Roger Irwin Sargent, 78, longtime resident of Moose Lake, died on Saturday, November 16 ^th , 2019 after a brief battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Jackson, MN on December 11 ^th , 1940 to Lavon and Vera (Ione) Sargent.

Roger served honorably in the United States Navy, being active duty for two years and two years as an inactive reserve. He married Judy Woolery in St. Paul on February 3 ^rd , 1962. Judy passed away on June 10 ^th , 2017. Roger was a talented wood worker, both working for other companies and self-employed. He was known for building detailed furniture and being able to restore antique furniture. Roger was a member of the Moose Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the United Methodist Church of Moose Lake. He married Virginia Green at the Methodist Church on June 23 ^rd , 2018. Together, they enjoyed Caribbean Cruises. Roger will be remembered as kind and loving, and for his love of animals.

He is preceded in death by his dear first wife, Judy; parents, Lavon and Vera; and brothers, Brian and Larry.

Roger's memory will be cherished by his wife, Ginny; sons, Corey (Colleen) Sargent and Eric Sargent; grandchildren, Quinn and Claire Sargent; step-children, Teddy, Holly, and Heather; 10 step-grandchildren; brother, Jim Sargent; and many other relatives, friends, and community members.

A memorial service to honor Roger's life will take place in the Spring of 2020.
