Ronald H. Anick Sr, age 80, died at his home on Monday Jan. 1, 2018.

He was born on April 12, 1937 to Steve and Ruth Anick. He attended Hermantown School and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of MN, Duluth. Prior to attending UMD, he served in the USAF for four years and was stationed in Korea.

Ron married Lauris Marie Olsen on August 16th, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Duluth, MN. They were married 61 years until his death.

He worked as an Instructor for the Dept. of Corrections at the prison in Moose Lake and Sandstone Vocational School and also taught classes for Sandstone High School.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Ruth Anick, brothers Roger (Dean) and Jim Anick and sister Sandra Isaacson.

He is survived by his wife Lauris; daughter Kelly Piette, her husband Michael and grandson Sean of Duluth; son Ron Anick Jr, his wife Kim and grandchildren Eli, Breanna and Nikolai; brother Len and his wife Arlene Anick of Hermantown, nephew Mike Anick (Jammie) of Hermantown and niece Marcia Anick of Duluth; and nephew Dan Dickey of Proctor.

There will be no service at the request of the deceased.
