Obituary

Rose Therese Hermanson, 90, of Moose Lake, passed away, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born November 20, 1923 in Duluth to Waclow "Walter" and Anna (Koslosky) Kibert. Rose was united in marriage to Eugene Hermanson on November 25, 1961 in Kettle River. Rose was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII and later worked at the State Hospital in Moose Lake. She was also a cook for the Senior Center and worked at the Moose Lake Library as well as the Kettle River and Cromwell Service Stations and was a Home Health Aid. Rose was a member of Autumn Voices, Kettle River Auxiliary Post #360 and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Rose enjoyed photography and nature. She made her own wine and loved gardening. Rose was Grand Champion at the Carlton County Fair for Bread Baking. Rose especially loved spending time with her family.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her parents; brother, Joseph Kibert; sisters, Anna Kissel, Vera Ellis, Edyth Wood and Lil Nummela-Evensen; special niece, Bernice Gresczyk.

Rose is survived by her children, Jaunita Duncan of Duluth, Daniel Collier of Yuma, AZ, Michael (Joanne) Collier of Kettle River, Guy (Judy) Collier of Kettle River, Cynthia (Bob) Filipiak of Minneapolis, Janine (Tony Smart) Wolf of Turlock, CA and Sandra (Dennis) Azevado of Olympia, WA; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; special nephew, Wally Kissel and several other nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, July 31 from 6 PM to 8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Friday, August 1, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake.
