Ruby Eldora Wilson, 81, of Sturgeon Lake, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at St. Mary's Essentia Hospital in Duluth. She was born on March 7, 1945, in Moose Lake to Annar and Marie (Broten) Olsen.

Ruby was raised on the family homestead on Split Rock Road near Denham. She graduated from Willow River High School and married her first husband Larry Dagel in October 1963 at Faith Lutheran Church. Together they raised two sons, Shannon and Bryan.

On June 8, 1996, Ruby married her late husband, Rob Wilson, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Ruby enjoyed spending time tending her gardens and especially loved her flowers. She also enjoyed watching the birds in her yard and had a special fondness for raising Shih Tzu puppies. Ruby will be remembered for her caring nature and the love she shared with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rob Wilson; sisters, Olga "Bud" Meger and Marian Flasch; and brother, Melvin Olsen.

Ruby will be greatly missed by her sons: Shannon (Pamela) Dagel of Mohave Valley, Arizona and Bryan (Shelly) Dagel of Sturgeon Lake; grandchildren: Lindsy, Andrew, Lily, and Kate; sister: Allie Miller; along with many relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church, 16923 Farm to Market Road, Sturgeon Lake, MN 55783. Inurnment will follow the service at Nordland Cemetery.
