Obituary

Ruth Katherine "Tiny" Jacobson, 89, of Rutledge, died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Rush City.
She was born March 10, 1920 in Hedgeville, Montana to Roy and Fannie (Thompson) Gilbert. Ruth was united in marriage to Carl H. Jacobson on June 17, 1939 in Moose Lake. Ruth was a clerk at the Willow River Mercantile, a clerk at the Sturgeon Lake Post Office, a postmaster in Barnum and was also employed at the Rutledge Grocery Store. Ruth enjoyed decorating cakes and was an excellent seamstress. She was a 4-H Leader as well as a member of Denham Hustlers and Luther League. Ruth also sang in choir and was a swimming instructor.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; 1 son, Roger; her parents; sisters, Lois Smith, Dorothy Anderson, Avis Dennie, Gladys Anderson and Joy Brown; brothers, Russell, Joseph, Faye and Roy; several brothers and sisters-in-law.

Ruth is survived by her sons, David (Connie) Jacobson of Willow River, Russell (Mary) Jacobson of Sandstone, Lyndon (JoAnn) Jacobson of Denham, Arnold Jacobson of Montana and Douglas (Sandra) Jacobson of Rutledge; daughters, Judy Miller of St. Louis Park and LaVonne Myrvold of Finlayson; sister, Shirley Nyquist of Carlton; brother-in-law, Guy Jacobson of Ridgeland, WI; 20 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 1 great great grand daughter; numerous nieces and nephews
