Ruth Alice Nordstrom, 73, Moose Lake, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth. She was born on July 24, 1948 in Duluth to Dona and Bernard Moder. Ruth lived in Duluth until 7 th grade when she moved with her family to Moose Lake and attended Moose Lake High School graduating in 1966. She furthered her education in Minneapolis and became a medical lab and x-ray tech. Ruth returned to Moose Lake where she worked at the Moose Lake Clinic. After marrying Dale Nordstrom on July 1, 1968 in Moose Lake, Ruth began helping Dale run the family business, Nordstrom's Sanitation Service for 51 years. In 1999, they built the AmericInn in Moose Lake which they operated for 20 years. Ruth was a very generous person who would always go out of her way to help anyone in need, especially her family and friends. She loved crafts including cross stitching, woodworking, stamping, and painting. Ruth also loved to fish and could be often found with Dale at the end of their dock on Bear Lake. It truly was Ruth's greatest love to spend time with family!
Ruth was preceded in death and reunited in heaven with her parents: Dona and Bernard Moder; grandson: Drew; and numerous aunts and uncles.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Dale; 4 children: Lisa (Ryan) LaPointe; Julie (Jimmy Calhoun) Nordstrom; Judd (Amanda) Nordstrom; and Lance (Erin) Nordstrom; her beloved grandchildren whom she was so proud of: Alexis, Anakin, Max, Maris, Peyton, MaKenna, DeAhnna, Reese, Paige, Talon, and Torin; siblings: Beth (Ken) Berg, RaeAnn Anderson; and Randy (Dianna) Moder; step-mom: Sonia Moder; step-sister: Melody (Dave) Swenson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, March 3, 2022 in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake and continue from 9 am until the 10 am funeral on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
