Ruth Kathrine Rengo, 86, of Aitkin, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 in Aicota Health Care Center, Aitkin.  She was born December 10, 1930 in Aitkin to Emanuel and Helmi (Elkie) Lidberg.  Ruth attended Valparaiso Country and Aitkin Schools.  She worked in the Twin Cities for Archer Daniels Midland in the mailing department.  Ruth was united in marriage to William Rengo on June 18, 1950 in Aitkin.  Ruth and William dairy farmed and raised their family in Automba.  Ruth was a devoted wife and mother.  She was a terrific homemaker and loved her family very much.  Ruth also worked at Moose Lake State Hospital from 1974-1978.  She then worked as a CNA at Mercy Health Care Center for 12 years.  Ruth moved back to Aitkin in 2000.  She volunteered as a Senior Companion in Moose Lake and Aitkin for several years.  She also enjoyed traveling and vacationing.  Ruth was a member of the Dulcimer Society in Aitkin.  She was also a member of The Church of God, had a deep-rooted faith and always had a very happy disposition.

Ruth is preceded in death by husband, William; her parents; son, Dale; sisters, Donna Rice, Carol Luoma, Dorothy Miles and Harriet Miles; brothers, Francis, Richard, Robert and Kenneth Lidberg.

Ruth is survived by her children, Pamela (Randy) Richards of Edmond, OK, Randy (Diane) Rengo of Blaine, Darin Rengo of Aitkin and Bruce Rengo of Kettle River; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
